The Quick Text Copy app enables you to create specially crafted snippet collection files, by giving each large snip a custom title. This way, the app’s snippet menu will only display the title, thus keeping its main window size as small as possible.

Custom snippet files containing text fragment titles have to named using a .properties extension, and the titles and text snips to be loaded have to be separated using an “=” character.

I’ve created a couple Quick Part text templates in Outlook which I use to quickly answer some common questions.

As I have spent quite some time creating them, I’d hate to lose them either when something goes wrong or when I get a new computer.

How can I make a backup of these Quick Parts?

Quick Parts are saved in a file called NormalEmail.dotm and is located in your Templates folder. Aside from Quick Parts, this file also contains the settings for any Styles that you may have added or modified.

You can copy this file to your backup location or to another computer’s or user’s Templates folder when Outlook is closed.

Accessing the AppData hidden folder

Since the “AppData” folder is a hidden folder, you either must enable “Show hidden files and folders” in Windows or simply copy and paste the above path in the Address Bar of Explorer, the Run command or the Search box of the Start Menu.
